Well, what a day! 46 Blaydon Harriers turned out yesterday at the first NEHL which must be a record attendance for us.
The U/11s started the day off, Max Murray, Robert Atkinson and Tom Wallace in the boys. Georgina McLeary and Hazel Richardson in the girls. Joseph Lonergan led the U/13 boys home in 8th place and will be promoted to the fast pack in his first ever race, closely followed by Will Collinson, running from the fast pack, Alex Wallace and Jake Turner, the latter making his debut for the club. Grace Johnson was our only U/13 girl. Cecilia Reid finished 9th in the U/15 girls race, again Cecilia’s first race in the U/15s, and is promoted to the fast pack, just pipping Jessica Levy, Emma Burnett and Emily Walters. Beth Fraser and Molly Holliday were our U/17/U/20 women both running this event for the first time. An excellent U/17 men’s team led home by Daniel Buffham 7th, Luke Shears, Jack Boaden running from the fast pack and Tom Rutherford. The Senior Women, what an amazing turnout! 17 senior ladies, several making their cross country debuts. Claire Collinson first home, closely followed by Eleanor Bradbury running from the medium pack then Izzy Jackson, Rachel Grant, Deborah Collins, Kat Nicholson, Jo Edwards, Stephanie Ashall, Nicola Simpson, Tracey Bowers, Doreen Craig, Marie Bottomley, Victoria Holliday, Julie Leath, Nicola Dodds, Hazel Goldie and Ann Marie Thompson.
