Wrekenton Cross Country, 24 September 2022

The 2022/2023 Cross Country season kicked off yesterday with the first meeting at Wrekenton.

Oscar Baggaley and Louie Taylor represented the Club in the U11 Boys race. Belle Gray, Lacey Johnson, Lily Ashall and Isla Finlay ran in the U11 Girls race.

Jacob Hendrey finished in 5th place in the U13 Boys race, closely followed by team mates Noah Richards, Dan Finlay, Aaron Jobson, and Jacob Mcgurk. The team finishing the day in 1st position with 42 points.

Joseph Ramshaw finished in 1st place for the U15 Boys, with Jamie Lonergan close behind in 4th, and Finn Graham 9th, followed by Robert Atkinson, Jacob Richards and Luke Page. The A team starts off the season in 1st position with 14 points.

Max Murray had a fantastic run for the U17 boys, finishing in 2nd place, and Ellie Fellows finished in a brilliant 4th place in the U17 Girls and U20 Women’s race.

A strong start for the Senior Men saw great running from Daire Fitzgerald, Martin Graham, Paddy Garraghan, Matthew Levison, Robert Hulse, Oliver Bailes, Robert Young, Isaac Dunn, Ian Brooks, Phillip Hilton-West, and Chris Ashall securing the team a respectable 7th place in Division 2.

The Senior Women also fielded a strong team, with Izzi Jackson, Emma Cartwright, Joanne Ramshaw, Rosie Bunney, Steph Ashall and Joanne Graham getting a 6th place finish in Division 3.

A great start to the season all round!
