It was a mild and sunny day yesterday to tackle the challenging XC course at Thornley Hall Farm in Peterlee and all our athletes did us proud as usual.
Twelve Juniors competed and kept up their fine performances after last weekend's Schools Inter-county Cross Country Championship.
Lois Richards ran her very first race for the Club for the U11 girls, finishing a very credible 22nd place, closely followed by Lacey Johnson and Lily Ashall.
The U13 boys' team did brilliantly, finishing in 2nd place, consisting of Jacob Hendry, Aaron Jobson and Noah Richards, all running from the fast pack.
The U15 boys finished in an excellent 3rd place, led by Jamie Lonergan and shortly followed by Robert Atkinson, Jacob Richards and Evan Conway.
The only competitor in the U17 boys was James Gay who finished way up the field in a very good 10th place from the fast pack.
Ellie Fellows ran from the fast pack in the U17 girls race, finishing in a fantastice 4th place.
The Senior men's A team was made up of David Best, James Dias, Hedley Fletcher, Matthew Levison, Tim Nichol and Chris Ashall. The B team of Phil McGuire, Jaycee Shotton, Ian Brooks and Isaac Dunn were just shy of a second full team.
The Senior women finished in 7th place overall, with Beth Bradford, Izzi Henderson, Eden Ratcliffe and Helen Ballard putting in great performances.
