Middlesbrough Half Marathon, 2 March 2025

Writer: BHACBHAC

The Middlesbrough Half Marathon, now in its second year, is known for its fast, flat course and fantastic support, making it a popular choice for runners aiming to achieve personal bests. This year, six Blaydon Harriers took on the challenge and delivered some remarkable performances.

The race kicked off in Centre Square, taking runners through Albert Park, past Riverside Stadium, and around the docks, before finishing back at the Town Hall. With a vibrant atmosphere, it made for a great experience for everyone involved.

A huge congratulations to all our athletes who completed the race:

  • Alex Muir – 1:13:07 (7th in V35 category, 19th overall)

  • Sam Hodgson – 1:15:09 (18th in Senior Men, 33rd overall)

  • Isaac Dunn – 1:16:54 (32nd in Senior Men, 50th overall)

  • Luke Wrigley – 1:25:14 (117th in Senior Men, 207th overall)

  • Emma Cartwright – 1:33:11 (19th in Senior Women, 41st female overall) – PB

  • Roselle Oberholzer – 1:33:01 (1st in V60 category, 40th female overall)

A special mention goes to Roselle, who took first place in her age category, an outstanding achievement!

We are incredibly proud of our Harriers for their hard work and determination. Whether chasing personal bests or simply enjoying the event, they did the Club proud!

Well done again to all our runners, here’s to the next challenge!
