The Great North 5k kicked off the Great North Run weekend on Friday 6 September 2024. Many Blaydon Harriers opt to use it as a warm up for the main event on Sunday.
The 5K is a perfect course to take in the scenic views across both Newcastle and Gateshead, including the Tyne Bridge. Starting on the Newcastle side, runners cross the Swing Bridge and along the river in Gateshead.
