February has been challenging weather-wise to say the least, but most of you have been braving the alphabet of storms we've had over recent weeks and still getting out running and volunteering.
Blaydon Parkrun Take-over - 8th February
Thanks to everyone who volunteered and ran at Gibside parkrun, it was a fantastic turnout. As a club run entirely by volunteers, we’re always looking for help with coaching, officiating and supporting our athletes, so if you're interested in getting involved, please get in touch. There’ll also be more opportunities in the future to support Gibside parkrun.
Close House 10K - 2nd February
Letha Whitham finished first female in this challenging 10K trail race organised by Wild Deer Events, in 42:53. Followed home by Philip McGuire (43:54), Mark Gubbins (46:10), Paul Young (49:39), Aidan MacDermott (54:31), Nicola Perry (1:00:42), Tom Gholkar (1:00:57) and Joanne Walmsley (1:05:07). Well done for getting up THAT hill!
NEMAA Open Cross Country Championships 2020 - 1st February
David Graham, Alan Storey and Stu Beryl finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the NEMAA Open Cross Country Championships 2020 to be crowned M65 Champions. Amazing result! Claire Collinson also competed, winning the F45 category, well done Claire.
Milan parkrun - 1st February
Nicola and Andrew Alderson were globetrotting again and indulging in a bit of parkrun tourism in Milan, where Andrew completed his 100th parkrun and also managed to sweep in and finish first!
