The Blaydon Race 2018 was held earlier in the day than usual; 3pm on Saturday 9th O’Joon saw a very busy Newcastle City Centre as 1000s of runners headed along the Scotswood Road on a very hot day.
We had an amazing 75 club members run in this year's Blaydon Race, 29 men and 46 women. First Blaydon lass home was Claire Collinson in 39:12, followed by Eleanor Bradbury in 2nd place, who held the plate in 2016, and Elaine Small pipped Izzi Jackson in the battle for 3rd. George Rudman was the 1st Blaydon Lad home in an awesome 28:56 followed by Jack Boaden in 2nd and Jonathon Stephens in 3rd. Impressively nine of the lads ran sub 32 mins. Ye shud ov seen them gannin’ ! Doreen took loads of photos and I mean LOADS!!!
