As the lockdown restrictions started to ease we saw a return to racing in April. It’s good to see Blaydon Harriers starting to get out and about and competing again.
Trail Outlaws Washington Trail 10K, 25 April 2021
Washington Trail 10k winds its way around James Steel Park and picks its way around some beautiful woodland trails along the banks of the River Wear. Kat Nicholson (01:12:13), Julie Stockman (01:14:51), Gemma Scott (01:16:33) and Katherine Curry (01:14:57) all took part.
Wild Deer Events Raby Castle Trail Runs, 18 April 2021
Originally planned to be held at Wynyard Hall, Wild Deer Events managed to move the whole event to the magnificent Raby Castle, Darlington, with over 200 acres of Deer Park, the venue was perfect for a Wild Deer Event. Rosie Bunney (01:16:33), Abbie Lewis (01:17:48) and Kat Nicholson (01:55:13) competed in the 10 mile trail run.
NECAA Cross Country Relay Championships, 10 April 2021
The NECAA Cross Country Relay Championships were held on 10 April 2021 at Thornley Hall Farm. David Graham, Stuart Beryl and Liam Friel competed as a Masters team completing the course in 41:23.
Elswick Harriers Virtual Good Friday Relays, 2-9 April 2021
The Good Friday Relays were held virtually this year over 2-9 April, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Blaydon entered three senior and two veteran women’s teams, and one senior and one veteran men’s teams. In total 26 Blaydon athletes completed the virtual run.
