The last Cross Country race of the season at took place at Alnwick Castle on Saturday 4 March 2023.
Lois Richards and LIly Ashall had a great final runs of the season for the U11 girls.
The U13 boys team have had a fantastic season, finishing first in the league and Jacob Hendrey finishing 4th in the Individual Grand Prix. On the day, the team of Aaron Jobson, Jacob Hendrey and Noah Richards, finished 4th.
The U15 boys have also had a great cross country season, five athletes turned out for the final race. Evan Conway, Jamie Lonergan, Robert Atkinson were the counters, and Jacob Richards and Finn Graham all put in brilliant performances for the Club. The team finishing 3rd on the day and 5th overall. Jamie Lonergan finished 6th in the Grand Prix.
James Gray represented the Club for the U17 boys, finishing 8th in the Grand Prix. Ellie Fellows has also had a good season, finishing 7th in the Grand Prix for the U17 girls/U20 women.
The Senior men finished in 6th place for the last race, with David Best, JamesDias, Martin Graham, Hedley Fletcher, Matthew Levison, Robb Young, Jaycee Shotton, Tim Nichol, Charlie Toogood, Chris Ashall and Ian Brooks all putting in sterling runs. The men avoided demotion and finished 8th in Division 2.
The Senior women narrowly missed out on promotion, finishing 3rd in Division 3. The four woman team of Letha Whitham, Izzi Henderson, Helen Ballard and Elaine Small finished 6th on the day.
Overall Blaydon Harrier and AC have had a great 2022/2023 cross country season, the Juniors have performed brilliantly. A big well done to everyone, and a huge thank you from Blaydon Harriers to everyone involved in organising the Start Fitness North East Harrier League. See you next season!
